Cheyanne Sales would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Friday, driving in four on three hits to lead Ooltewah Owls Varsity past Blackman 8-1 on Friday. Sales drove in runs on a home run in the first and a home run in the fourth.
Ooltewah Owls Varsity got things started in the first inning. Ooltewah Owls Varsity scored two runs when Sales homered.
Annalee Moore got the win for Ooltewah Owls Varsity. She lasted four innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out one. Emma Ladd threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Manus was in the circle for Blackman. She allowed 16 hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out six.
Ooltewah Owls Varsity launched two home run on the day. Sales had a four bagger in the first and fourth innings.
Ooltewah Owls Varsity racked up 16 hits on the day. Sydney White, Sales, Lexi Vogel, Aubrey Smith, and Makala Strickland all collected multiple hits for Ooltewah Owls Varsity. Vogel, Sales, and White each collected three hits to lead Ooltewah Owls Varsity.
Tarpley went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Blackman in hits.
