Ooltewah Softball is ready to take to the dirt and start their 2020 season. Head Coach Kerrilyn Mongar, an Ooltewah alumni, is looking to improve in her second season. In her inaugural year at the helm, she guided the Owls to a strong late run and State Tournament bid, a feat that is the norm for the softball program at Ooltewah High School. Helping Coach Mongar will be the other Coach Mongars: her sister, Jalayne and father, Jerry Mongar. Behind strong senior leadership from Callie Hensley, Makalya Strickland, Cadie Cooper, Whitney Tryon and Alexis Vogel, the Lady Owls will try to imitate and expand on the last few year’s state title runs. In the circle will be a stable of young pitchers Annalee Moore, Mollie Pedigo, Emma Ladd and Allison Sparkman. Juniors Alyssa White and Alana Martin look to provide some experience to the team and sophomores Ashlyn Brock, Alexis Poling, Jaycee Hold, Faith O’Donnell and Abbey Brewton will round out the rest of the roster. Be sure to come out and support the Lady Owls at Jim Lovell Field for the season opener on March 10th at 5:00 pm as they take on Soddy Daisy.
