The Ooltewah Track teams both brought home victories last night at Hixson High School’s track meet. The men’s team totaled 164 points off of strong performances across the board that saw an Ooltewah Owl finish in the top 3 of every event of the night, excluding the high jump. Ten of those events finished with the Owls in the number one spot. Edgar Lawrence and Dawson Jones set personal records in the 100 meter and 200 meter, respectively. Chance Underwood also set a personal record in the 800 meters. Ooltewah won the 100 (Donte Blunt), 200 (Dawson Jones), 1600 (Chance Underwood), 3200 (Blake Bastien), 110 Hurdles (Christian Doty), 4×100 (Donte Blunt, Quincy Harvey, Edgar Lawrence, Dawson Jones), 4×200 (Donte Blunte, Dawson Jones, Christian Doty, Edgar Lawrence), 4×800 (Blake Bastien, Keyshawn Stafford, Juan Martinez, Isaiah Weaver), Shot Put (Cole Steele) and the Long Jump (Christian Doty).
The ladies’ track team outscored Silverdale in the meet by 31 points, finishing with 157.33. The Lady Owls won seven of those events including the 400 (Jada Tharp), 1600 (Ana Gray), 3200 (Ana Gray), 100 Hurdles (Shelby Woolwine), 4×800 (Jada Tharp, Ana Gray, Perla Martinez, Ella Knowles), Shot Put (Sabrina Oostberg) and the High Jump (Sabrina Oostberg).
