Makala Strickland came the ballpark and meant business on Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead Ooltewah Owls Varsity past Bradley Central 16-2 on Thursday. Strickland drove in runs on a home run in the third and a single in the fourth.

Ooltewah Owls Varsity secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the fourth inning. Ooltewah Owls Varsity’s offense in the inning came from singles by Strickland, Jaycee Holt, Lexi Vogel, and Cheyanne Sales, a triple by Annalee Moore, an error on a ball put in play by Madalyn Mills, and a double by Mackenzie Patterson.

In the first inning, Ooltewah Owls Varsity got their offense started when Mills singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Ooltewah Owls Varsity tallied nine runs in the fourth inning. Ooltewah Owls Varsity put the pressure on, lead by singles by Strickland, Holt, Vogel, and Sales, a triple by Moore, an error on a ball put in play by Mills, and a double by Patterson.

Rogers took the loss for Bradley Central. She surrendered eight runs on seven hits over three innings, striking out one.
