Baseball, Track head across the river to Soddy Daisy

It’s finally opening day on the diamond for the Ooltewah Owls’ baseball program. After a rain riddled preseason, the Owls will head to Soddy Daisy tonight for the away half of their series with district opponent Soddy Daisy. Saturday in Ooltewah Athletics

The Lady Owls Softball team will be hosting another play day this weekend. Ooltewah will kicking off their day at 11:20 am against Bledsoe County. The Owls will then take one game off before finishing off their Saturday with 3 straight games starting at 1:40 vs. Sequatchie County, Baylor and then Silverdale for the homestretch.

Track District Championship

In the District Championship, the girls received 2nd place with 87 points, and boys came in 4th place with 52 points.

Top Ooltewah Performers from Track Meet

Three winners from the Track race are: Kasad Featherstone had the 400 meter dash with 50.91 seconds. Krystal Starling had a shot-put of 41 ft and 7 inches which is a school record! Ashley Price high jumped 5 feet for first place.

Starling Breaks OHS Shotput Record, Places 4th at State

Krystal Starling has been waiting all season to break the 40 foot barrier.  Thursday morning, she did that and then some.  Starling threw for 41.3 feet, which broke Ooltewah High School’s record.  The sophomore’s toss was good enough to land her on the podium for fourth place at the TSSAA state track meet.
